KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Knoxville’s Five Bar location on Gay Street will be closing its doors on March 31.
A statement from the restaurant says they were not able to make the Knoxville location profitable. Staff members will receive severance pay and job offers at their other locations in Chattanooga, Alabama and Georgia.
Full statement from Five Bar:
“We fell in love with Knoxville when we got here, and we are still in love with it. We had hoped to do great things, but businesses have to be profitable to survive. Unfortunately, we were never able to manage that.
We are taking care of our staff – they will all receive severance pay and job offers at our other restaurants. We are humbled by all of the love and support given to us over the years by our landlord, neighbors, and most of all our customers. Thank you, and we will certainly be back to visit your wonderful city.”
