Man Shot in Cheddar’s parking lot

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- A man is in the hospital after a shooting at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen on Gunbarrel Road.

According to Chattanooga police, they responded to a person shot call around 1:40 this afternoon.

When they arrived on scene they found a man suffering from a serious injury.

Police say that the victim is expected to survive.

Investigators believe that the victim and the suspect know each other and this was a targeted attack.

SGT. Jermey Eames with the Chattanooga Police Department says, “Obviously, this is a very high visibility area and a very busy part of the day with Mother’s Day weekend and that sort of thing. So, we don’t believe that there is a threat to the general public in anyway. We believe that this is definitely a targeted incident.”

This is an ongoing investigation.
